Sales Development Representative
The individual in this role will lead efforts to generate and convert top-of-funnel marketing leads into qualified sales opportunities that the sales account executives can successfully engage and close. This includes developing and executing effective lead nurturing strategies, ensuring a seamless handoff between marketing and sales teams, and maintaining a strong focus on driving measurable revenue growth. The position requires close collaboration with the Sales Manager, who today is the CEO, to apply thoughtful experimentation and data-driven approaches to identify which marketing and sales programs deliver the highest return on investment for the company.
Primary Responsibilities
The role requires positioning Vertical IQ as a leading provider of accurate, timely, reputable industry data to decision-makers. The position also focuses on working with the Sales Management to identify which sales and marketing programs are profitable and have the most promise for our future growth. The role requires these skills:
- Ability to sell Vertical IQ’s value to potential customers.
- Leverage and fine-tune tools such as Salesforce.com, Gong, LinkedIn, Excel, Google Sheets, and others.
- Proactively reach out to 75 to 100+ prospects per day, leveraging multiple lead sources such as trade shows, previous users, webinars, cold calls, and other targeted outreach initiatives.
- The careful tracking of sales and marketing program results.
- Tirelessly working large lists of inbound and outbound prospects via phone, email, and other methods of communications.
- Articulate Vertical IQ’s value to prospects who are unfamiliar with our product.
- Achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals such as attaining prospect meetings.
- Work effectively with other team members and throughout the organization, especially in marketing and sales.
- Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
- Provide support to other areas of the company as needed.
- 1 to 3 years professional experience executing sales and relevant Sales Development activities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented individual capable of meeting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual results
- Proven success in executing outbound call/email campaigns to achieve desired results
- A team player who performs well independently
- Must be a confident, adaptable self-starter who thrives in an empowered, fast-paced environment
- Experience working with Marketing Automation and Sales Enablement tools required.
Location
Vertical IQ operates in North America with an office in Raleigh, NC. It is preferred that candidates be based in Raleigh, NC or can work in the office 4 days per week (occasionally 3 days per week) for team collaboration. Some travel required.
