Content Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Content Marketing Manager who has a passion for telling the Vertical IQ story in order to educate our target audience across a variety of media and content forms.

Our ideal candidate is a creative marketing professional that thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a love for writing and likes the challenge of creating new content from ideation to completion. Whether you’re working on a blog, writing punchy one-liners for an ABM campaign, or updating our website content your writing style is concise, yet persuasive. You have an intimate understanding the impact content has on the sales process to win and retain customers.

Ultimately, you should be able to expand our company’s digital footprint and brand awareness.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with thought leaders, and the rest of the VIQ team, to produce high quality content to drive traffic, engage and convert target customers, and improve shared content across social media channels; content to include blog posts, website copy, eBooks, emails, newsletters, case studies, webinars, videos, presentations, speeches, demand generation campaigns, and other content as needed
  • Manage Vertical IQ’s online presence including, but not limited to, Vertical IQ’s web properties, social media accounts, and SEO
  • Build and manage our editorial calendar, including blog and social media
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and customer challenges in order to build a more effective editorial calendar
  • Edit, proofread, and improve content
  • Optimize content considering SEO and Google Analytics
  • Ensure that our brand and voice are used consistently across all deliverables
  • Build and manage Vertical IQ’s PR and media relations, including identifying and building relationships with key journalists, finding podcasts and speaking opportunities
  • Leveraging market and product data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support sales and marketing goals
  • Push Vertical IQ to adopt better content creation practices through frequent testing of new content formats and distribution channels
  • Measure, analyze, optimize, and continually improve all VIQ communication processes and content used for campaigns and new product features and/or releases
  • Provide support to other areas of the marketing team and company as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area (e.g., marketing, advertising, or communications) with a minimum of three years of experience in content marketing, journalism, or related role. Bonus if you have experience in the financial services industry!
  • Excellent writing and editing skills along with the ability to convey concepts and complement stories via imagery
  • A successful track record in social media campaign management and measurement
  • Project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to build productive and collaborative working relationships with individuals at all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills along with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency with marketing tools such as HubSpot, CRM solutions, WordPress, HTML, project/task management software such as Trello, SEO tools, and Google Suite
  • Candidates should provide writing samples and expect a short writing test
  • Previous employment with early-stage technology or software companies desired

Location

Vertical IQ operates in North America with an office in Raleigh, NC. This role can be based anywhere in the United States and will require some travel.

Job Description - Backend Software Developer

Backend Software Developer

Seeking a skilled mid-level Backend Software Developer strong in Ruby on Rails, MySQL and general web development.  We have a small development team responsible for the entire stack at Vertical IQ. Someone in this position splits their time between development in the core RoR application and other development projects like data aggregators, process automation and reporting.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for building out our products for the web and beyond using current tech and best practices. You’ll collaborate with our full team to arrive at elegant and meaningful solutions, shipping software that helps and delights our customers. You’ll also help establish dev practices that enable us to build faster, more efficiently, and more effectively.

This position reports to the VP of Technology and provides the opportunity to work in a fun, team-oriented environment. Work can be performed in our Raleigh office, at home, or a combination of the two.

Responsibilities - Your responsibilities will change over time, but a few core tasks will include:

  • Designing, maintaining, and enhancing internal systems, programs and web applications
  • Developing innovative web portal solutions and back-end services for new products
  • Extending, and optimizing existing applications which run in cloud-based computing environments including E-Commerce and content management systems
  • Strengthening and maintaining the infrastructure for the application platform
Requirements
  • 3+ years professional software development experience
  • Strong competency in RoR, PHP, Python, MySQL
  • Strong competency in Linux environments.
  • Experience in AWS or similar cloud-based environments highly desired
  • Experience in developing website-based portals and web services
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing production software applications
  • Ability to profile, optimize, and scale applications in cloud-based computing environments
  • Experience with configuration management
