Giving Tuesday is an annual worldwide initiative marked on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, encouraging people to contribute their time, talents, and treasure to worthwhile charities. Amid the rampant commercialism of the holiday shopping season, it is a good reminder of the true meaning of the season: that it is better to give than to receive.
Each year, as part of Giving Tuesday, Vertical IQ employees select three charities near and dear to our hearts, and ask our community to participate in sharing the warmth. This year, we’ve selected these charitable organizations:
St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Consistent with the vision of its founder, Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family’s ability to pay.
Samaritan’s Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid around the world, helps meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love.
Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, a member of Feeding America, is committed to feeding North Carolina’s children, families, and seniors by recovering and distributing over 8 million pounds of food each year, collaborating to serve people at their point of need through community-centered solutions.
